The technique I use to make the jackets, vests and coats is my version of NUNO FELTING. I use the fleeces of the llamas and alpacas that I have raised. I also use alpaca from my neighbors at the Goji Berry farm and the Rambouillet ram from another neighbor’s ranch and the alpaca from my cowboy spinning student who lives in Black Lake. I make pre-felt out of their fleeces. I place the pre-felt on silk and with my felting machine I create the designs. I then put the silk with the pre-felt stitched into it into the washing machine and in a few minutes it felts! I then create the finished jackets and coats with the felted silk.
